With compassionate staff who listen to your needs and modern amenities designed for your comfort Sands Health will be here with you every step of the way. We are patient centered and safety focused with hospital grade standards.

Intake

Once we receive an order from your physician, one of our friendly intake coordinators will contact you. You’ll have a dedicated intake coordinator with a direct phone number that will be your direct contact person if you have any questions or concerns along the way. They’ll send you any necessary additional paperwork and guide you through the entire process.

Navigating Insurance

Sensitive to the costs of care, we work closely with you to navigate insurance, copay assistance, and financial assistance programs. We want to provide all the necessary information for you to minimize delays in care and make your long-term treatments more accessible. We know this can be complicated, let us alleviate the burden and work with your insurer directly. We’re here to help and will keep you informed every step of the way!

Scheduling

We’ll work hard to get your treatment started as quickly as possible. Our flexible hours make it easy to fit your treatment into your schedule, ensuring minimal disruption to your daily life.

If you need any bloodwork prior to infusion, we’ll make it as convenient as possible for you. We may even be able to do it right before your infusion at our center.

We typically recommend eating a nutritious meal and staying well hydrated before your appointment. If you need to deviate from that recommendation or a fasting lab is necessary, our team will coordinate with you accordingly. Please make our team aware in advance if specific adjustments are needed in your treatment plan, we will partner with your provider to make sure all aspects of your care is s addressed in a timely manner. Plan on taking your regular medications prior to your infusion unless we or your provider advises you otherwise.

Wear something comfortable with easy access to your arms (or to your port, PICC line, or central access device, if you have one) for IV placement and regular vital sign monitoring during your infusion.

Feel free to bring a friend or family member. Depending on the infusion, some patients need someone to drive them home. We’ll be sure to discuss that with you ahead of time, as well as how long you can expect to be at the center. We recommend for initial infusions someone accompany you if available.

Our infusion center is conveniently near Brays Bayou off IH 610 Loop at 4710 Bellaire Boulevard, Suite 189, in Bellaire. There is a parking lot off Bellaire Boulevard and a spacious parking garage off North 1st Street. Both are complimentary and just steps from our first-floor office.

We have blankets, snacks, drinks, wifi, and television. But feel free to bring anything that will make you comfortable like books, magazines, and tablets.
