Can I eat or drink before my infusion?

In general, we recommend a good meal and lots of hydration prior to your infusion. Whether you can eat or drink beforehand depends on the treatment. We’ll give you specific instructions. Some treatments may require fasting, while others allow you to eat and drink normally.

Can I bring someone with me for support?

Yes, you're welcome to bring a friend or family member for support. Having company can help make the experience more comfortable. Please give us a heads up when scheduling if you know in advance that you will have additional support so we can attempt to help accommodate.

What happens during the infusion?

One of our specialized nurses will administer your medication while you read, watch TV, work, or simply unwind. We also provide blankets, snacks, and drinks to keep you comfortable.

How long does an infusion take?

The length of infusions vary depending on the medication and the physician's order.

What happens after the infusion?

Once your infusion is complete, you'll be monitored for any immediate reactions. We will also give you instructions on post-infusion care, and assistance in scheduling follow-up visits.
